Joseph Amoroso is a seasoned litigation attorney with more than 25 years of experience handling complex legal matters across a broad range of industries. He represents clients ranging from small and mid-sized businesses to Fortune 100 companies in high-stakes litigation, including single-plaintiff claims, class actions, and multidistrict proceedings. His practice spans all levels of state and federal trial and appellate courts, as well as alternative dispute resolution forums and administrative agencies.
In addition to his litigation practice, Joseph serves as trusted in-house counsel to a number of small and mid-sized corporations, advising on risk management, compliance, and day-to-day legal issues. Early in his career, Joseph served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable James J. Petrella, Presiding Judge of the Appellate Division, where he gained valuable insight into appellate jurisprudence.
Joseph has played a key role in numerous high-profile and complex matters. His experience includes successfully representing an international telecommunications company in a multi-party $7 million dispute through trial, defending global pharmaceutical companies in multidistrict mass tort and product liability class actions, and litigating a multibillion-dollar antitrust case between multinational pharmaceutical corporations in federal court and before the Third Circuit. He has also secured favorable outcomes in significant commercial disputes, environmental litigation, and catastrophic injury cases.
His representative matters include achieving successful resolutions for Fortune 50 retail pharmacy clients in negligence and wrongful death claims, contributing to a landmark appeal before the New Jersey Supreme Court overturning the largest medical malpractice verdict in the state’s history, and defending one of the nation’s largest liquid petroleum gas distributors in a wide array of complex litigation. Joseph has also obtained multiple dismissals in high-exposure product liability cases involving alleged design defects and failure-to-warn claims.
