Frank J. Kontely III is Partner in Schenck Price’s Commercial Litigation and Construction Law Practice Groups. Frank earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and his law degree at the University of Florida College of Law.
Frank, a seasoned trial attorney for over 35 years, has obtained numerous successful jury verdicts on behalf of his clients throughout the State of New Jersey. His extensive litigation experience includes matters in construction, professional liability, premises liability and personal injury as well as related contractual, insurance coverage and risk-transfer issues. He has conducted seminars for risk-management professionals and attorneys in these areas.
Frank also drafts contracts for his clients to provide them with as much protection from litigation as possible. When litigation ensues, he prides himself on counseling his clients on cost-effective dispute resolution through early identification of issues and exposures and, where appropriate, arbitration and mediation.
Frank is rated as an AV Preeminent Attorney by Martindale-Hubbell for ethical standards and legal ability. He has also been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America ® publication.
Frank has been actively involved in his community. He serves on the Spiritual Life Committee for his local parish. He has served on the Mendham Township Board of Education and the Princeton University Alumni Schools Committee. He is past President of the Mendham Football Booster Club and a former coach for Twin Boro Bears Football, Mendham Patriots Basketball and Mendham Little League.

- Successfully defended a developer/general contractor in a case brought by an employee of a subcontractor who alleged personal injuries and economic damages due to a worksite hazard.
- Proske v. St. Barnabas Medical Center, et al., 313 N.J. Super. 311 (App. Div. 1998), the Appellate Division accepted his argument that a storage facility in a chain of custody of diagnostic films could not be held liabile for failing to preserve, or spoliating, evidence.
- Zacharias v. Whatman, PLC, 345 N.J. Super. 218 (App. Div. 2001), the Appellate Divison commented on complex civil procedure issues involving application of the statute of limitation between state and federal court in an emplyment discrimination matter.
