On October 6, Partner Mark K. Silver presented “Attorney Ethics on Television – Juries & Corporations” for NJICLE. This presentation reviewed several well-known television shows and examine how fictional influences can predispose watchers/jurors to distrust defense attorneys and large corporations. 

Topics addressed throughout the presentation included:

• Track the devolution attorney ethics over time
• Examine ethical implications of actions taken by select main characters
• Present examples of negative depictions of corporate defendants and how those depictions can influence jury verdicts
• Explore solutions to combat the prejudices instilled by television
