On July 26, 2023, Schenck Price attorneys Thomas Cotton and Marla Buitrago Rincon obtained favorable judgment for their client in an attorney-malpractice suit.

Thomas and Marla’s client, an international distributor of perfumes, sued its former counsel for mishandling a commercial litigation. Marla led the team during the in-person proof hearing, which required detailed testimony from their client’s CEO and a comprehensive presentation of document evidence.  Through strategic and knowledgeable maneuvers throughout the preparation, examination and presentation, our client was granted full relief.

The judgment granted in favor of Schenck Price’s client approximated $100,000, which included not only attorneys’ fees and costs, but also the legal fees paid by our client in the underlying commercial litigation and the compensatory damages our client would have received in consequence for the prior counsel’s malpractice.
