Schenck Price Smith & King is pleased to announce that Senior Partner Shirley Bergen Whitenack has been named a 2022 “Best 50 Women in Business” honoree by NJBIZ.

The NJBIZ “Best 50 Women in Business” program recognizes women professionals throughout New Jersey who have made a significant impact on business in New Jersey. Ms. Whitenack is one of just six practicing attorneys on the list of 50 women.

The honorees, from a variety of professions, will be celebrated on October 26 at The Palace at Somerset. 

Ms. Whitenack co-chairs Schenck Price Smith & King's Elder and Special Needs Law Practice Group and the Estates and Trusts Litigation Practice Group. She devotes a substantial portion of her practice to elder and special needs law, estate planning and administration, and trust and estate litigation. She is also on the State of New Jersey roster of approved mediators.

Ms. Whitenack is a Past President of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), a NAELA Fellow, and a member of NAELA's Council of Advanced Practitioners (CAP), an invitation-only group of elder and special needs planning practitioners and has served as an adjunct professor of law in the J.D. and LL.M. in Elder Law Programs at Stetson University College of Law.

She is a member of the Special Needs Alliance (SNA), an invitation-only nationwide alliance of special needs planning attorneys. She served as a Trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA) for six years and was appointed by New Jersey Chief Justice Stuart Rabner to represent the NJSBA on the Judiciary Working Group on Elder Justice. 

Ms. Whitenack has long been recognized as a leader in the legal and the elder law community. In 2019, she was selected by the New Jersey Bar Foundation as a recipient of its prestigious Medal of Honor.
