Wilson J. Campbell v. Supreme Court of NJ, et al. Dkt. No. 2:11-cv-00555-SRC-MAS

SPSK has just filed its opposition to the Plaintiff’s motion for reconsideration of the Court’s order granting summary judgment to the last defendant in the case, former  Hudson County Assignment Judge Maurice Gallipoli. The Plaintiff claims arise from discipline he received from the Supreme Court while he was serving as a municipal court judge in Jersey City. The Supreme Court found he had violated judicial ethics by failing to report an ongoing sexual relationship with his courtroom bailiff.

Plaintiff brought suit under the LAD against the Supreme Court, several members of it Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct and Judge Gallipoli  claiming the motivation for his discipline was that he was black and the bailiff was white. SPSK moved to dismiss the case and its motion was granted as the Supreme Court and the members of its Advisory Committee. The motion was denied as to Judge Gallipoli to permit discovery on certain factual allegations.  Summary Judgment was granted to Judge Gallipoli on December 23, 2014. The Plaintiff filed a motion for reconsideration shortly thereafter.
