• Michael A. Calabrese is Counsel in the Firm’s Community Association Practice Group. With over six years of experience, Michael provides legal counsel to condominiums, homeowners, and cooperative associations in New Jersey.

    Michael advises boards of directors, trustees, and community managers on legal matters such as Governing document compliance, unit owner and shareholder disputes, and fair housing matters, to name a few. He drafts, amends, and reviews governing documents, election packages, and board resolutions to address community needs and ensure NJ Law compliance. Michael also negotiates and drafts contracts that protect clients’ interests and support smooth association operations.

    Michael has significant experience representing cooperative associations, advising cooperative boards on shareholder disputes, proprietary lease enforcement, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. He also has experience in association debt collection, employing tactful, results-driven strategies to recover delinquent assessments while preserving positive community relations.

    Prior to joining Schenck Price, Michael was a Senior Attorney at a Morris County firm, as well as a volunteer at a New Jersey firm, and a legal intern at the Permanent Mission of Papua New Guinea to the United Nations.

    In law school, Michael was part of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, as well as the Italian American Law Organization.
