Jay Helverson is Of Counsel in Schenck Price’s International Tax Advisory Practice Group. He focuses his practice on cross-border tax planning for inbound and outbound companies, institutional investors, and investment funds.
Jay regularly advises Western European, Nordic, UK, and Canadian companies, as well as institutional investors—including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and funds of funds—on U.S. inbound tax planning and cross-border investment structures.
Before joining Schenck Price, Jay served as lead partner of an international tax advisory firm affiliated with a global tax network, where he also sat on the global board of directors. He previously worked for many years as a Director at a Big Four accounting firm in Frankfurt, Germany, and has spoken at numerous international tax conferences.
Jay has published extensively on cross-border taxation, private equity, and due diligence in journals such as The Journal of Private Equity, Private Equity International, and Tax Notes International. He also contributed a chapter to the treatise Tax Due Diligence (C.H. Beck Verlag).
