Ira J. Hammer has more than thirty years of experience in intellectual property, contract, corporate and commercial law. He started his practice as a commercial litigator and after working on a significant intellectual property case, took the patent bar and was admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. For the next fifteen years, his practice focused on litigation of intellectual property, contract, corporate and commercial matters, as well as the prosecution of trademark, copyright and patent applications and counseling clients on various intellectual property matters. Over time, the emphasis of his practice changed from litigation to prosecution, counseling and transactions in involving intellectual property, technology and licensing, as well as other corporate and contract issues.

Intellectual Property protection, counseling and strategies including patents, trademarks and copyrights, technology licensing, non-disclosure agreements, joint venture and research collaboration agreements, invention assignment and employment agreements. Review of client operations and counseling of clients regarding (i) intellectual property protection for products and services; (ii) intellectual property infringement claims that might be made against client; (iii) compliance with licenses and other agreements; (iv) website compliance with applicable laws; and (v) compliance of advertising materials with Lanham Act and other applicable statutes. Corporate counseling for closely held companies including serving as outside general counsel for such clients, reviewing, drafting and negotiating corporate and commercial agreements for the sale and use of client products and businesses, purchases from ventures, joint ventures with other parties, strategic alliance agreements and financing. He serves clients in a wide range of industries.
