Beth L. Barnhard is Certified as an Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the ABA-accredited National Elder Law Foundation. Beth helps seniors, people with disabilities, and their families navigate the challenging process of planning for and applying for institutional Medicaid in the home and community-based setting as well as the nursing home and assisted living settings. Beth also handles Medicaid appeals in state and federal court.
Beth advises clients in connection with a variety of issues associated with aging and disability including special needs planning and planning for incapacity. Beth brings her litigation experience to elder and disability law issues and handles guardianships, protective arrangements, as well as fiduciary litigation and will contests.
Beth is a frequent lecturer on elder and disability law topics including Medicaid, guardianships, and fiduciary litigation.
Beth is the current Chair of the Litigation Committee for the New Jersey Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NJ NAELA). Beth is also a Past President of NJ NAELA (2017, 2023). Beth is a Past Chair of the Elder & Disability Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association (2018).
Beth is proficient in American Sign Language and is trained as a Support Services Provider for the Deaf-Blind.
