The Emerging Challenge to Non-Profit Real Property Tax Exemption, Breakfast Seminar, December 2, 2014

Schenck, Price, Smith & King, LLP hosted a breakfast seminar entitled; “The Emerging Challenge to Non-Profit Real Property Tax Exemption” on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at the Madison Hotel, Morristown, New Jersey.

Two pending New Jersey court cases challenge the ability of non-profit organizations to claim tax-exempt status for local real property taxes.  Our distinguished panel explained that threat and explored potential planning alternatives.

The Honorable Jennifer Beck, New Jersey State Senate (R-11) addressed “The Role of the State of New Jersey as it Pertains to Non-Profit Tax Exemptions in the Age of Shrinking Municipal Resources”

John B. Wilson, President/CEO of the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities in New Jersey addressed “The Perspective of Private Universities.”

Farah N. Ansari, an attorney at Schenck, Price, Smith & King, LLP spoke about “Protecting Non-Profit Tax Exempt Status” and Robert B. McBriar, also an attorney at Schenck, Price, Smith & King, LLP spoke about “Preparing for the Challenge.”
