Franklin Barbosa, Jr., joined the firm in 2018 as an associate in the Litigation Department, focusing on commercial litigation and creditors’ rights matters. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Barbosa was an associate at a prominent New Jersey law firm, where he worked in multiple practice areas including bankruptcy, commercial litigation, insurance broker malpractice litigation, and section 1983 defense.
In 2015, Mr. Barbosa graduated, cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law with a juris doctor. As a law student, Mr. Barbosa served as Vice President of the Student Bar Association and Legislative Editor of the Seton Hall Legislative Journal. He was a recipient of the Adeline Lillian Carmela Memorial Award for his contributions to the law school community.
Mr. Barbosa interned in the chambers of the Honorable Stuart A. Rabner, Chief Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court, where he drafted numerous certification memoranda for use by the justices in determining which issues of law would receive certification for Fall oral arguments. He was also an intern to the Honorable Cathy L. Waldor, Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Mr. Barbosa graduated, summa cum laude, from Drew University in 2012 with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in History. He is also a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society.
Mr. Barbosa is a 2018 fellow for Lead New Jersey.
