• Edward J. Trawinski, an attorney since 1974, joined Schenck Price in 1990 just after serving Governor Tom Kean as Assistant State Commerce Commissioner, where he directed programs and departments designed to promote job growth and economic development. He led negotiations for entities seeking to move into New Jersey development areas and promoted economic development of enterprise zones.

As a partner and past member of the firm’s management committee, Ed’s practice centered on all types of real estate, leasing, managed districts law, land use and corporate transactions, financing, construction, environmental matters and, as a licensed pilot himself, he also practices aviation regulatory law. His practice afforded him an expertise which led him to serve in many capacities such as: Bergen County Condemnation Commissioner; a founding member and past Chairman of Morris County Economic Development Corporation; special counsel to Boonton, Fair Lawn, Hasbrouck Heights, Bergenfield, Teaneck planning boards; counsel to Peapack Gladstone Land Use Board, Passaic River Coalition, NJ Managed Districts Association, the Ironbound Business Improvement District; Assistant Counsel to the NJ Planning Officials; etc. Ed has also published and lectured extensively on corporate and land use topics.

Ed has been a panel attorney for over 30 years for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association's Legal Services Plan.

Beyond his law practice, Ed had a desire to be involved in his community, as his father before him. He became a Councilman, Deputy Mayor and then Mayor of his hometown, Fair Lawn. He served as Trustee and member of the Finance Council of St. Anne’s Church. Then in 2011, Ed accepted the position of Bergen County Administrator and Director of Administration, a role that allowed him to utilize all his previous experience and knowledge to help an even larger community before ending his full-time career. Ed returned to Schenck Price in 2014 and continues his law practice serving as of counsel to the Firm.
