Michael J. Marotte, Chair of the Firm’s Insurance Coverage Practice Group, and Valerie A. Vladyka, member of the Insurance Coverage Practice Group, presented a claims handling seminar to Greater New York Mutual Insurance Company, in East Brunswick, NJ on August 18, 2016.   The seminar addressed the proper claims handling and settlement practices, including an insurer’s duty to investigate claims, coverage evaluation, defending under a reservation of rights, disclaiming coverage, rescinding coverage and bad faith.  The seminar also addressed the laws and regulations set forth in New Jersey’s Insurance Trade and Practice Act and Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Act.
