Corporate and Commercial LitigationCorporate and commercial litigation is a complex field of law that requires multiple specialized skills: investigation and analysis of relevant facts; research and application of controlling statutes, regulations, and case law; understanding of adverse positions; settlement negotiation skills; organization and presentation of evidence in court; advocacy skills; courtroom experience using trial skills and techniques; a thorough working knowledge of both state and federal rules of evidence and procedure. The Corporate and Commercial Litigation Practice Group of Schenck, Price, Smith & King prides itself on its experienced trial attorneys who bring these skills to the matters they handle for clients of the firm. The New Jersey Supreme Court certifies a select group of civil trial attorneys whose credentials and experience satisfy certain high standards set by that Court. Schenck, Price, Smith & King is proud that among the attorneys in its Corporate and Commercial Litigation Practice Group, Gilbert S. Leeds and Roy J. Evans have earned the designation of Certified Civil Trial Attorney. Still other members of the practice group have, because of their experience and stature, earned appointments by the New Jersey Supreme Court to serve on committees including the Advisory Committee on Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance, the Disciplinary Review Board, District Ethics Committees, and the Board of Trustees for the New Jersey Lawyers' Assistance Program Advisory Committee. With decades of experience to its credit, the Corporate and Commercial Litigation Practice Group of Schenck, Price has all the credentials necessary to be an invaluable member of a client's team. The firm's corporate and commercial litigation attorneys deal with all manner of business-related cases, including contract disputes, restrictive covenant and other employment-related controversies, violations of commercial leases, litigation involving financial institutions, business torts, and mechanics' lien claims, to name just a few. Our experienced trial lawyers also recognize that Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) often can serve a client's interests at least as well as litigation, and often in a speedier and less expensive manner than litigation. We have experience in mediation, arbitration and other ADR forums, and actively strive to keep current with developments in this growing area of the law. At Schenck, Price, Smith & King, we believe that serving our corporate and commercial litigation clients also includes keeping them apprised of all of the significant events in their cases. We help our clients to closely track litigation expenses through detailed monthly billings, and believe that they are entitled to be as involved as they wish to be in our handling of their cases. We are gratified that our corporate and commercial litigation work comes to us through referrals from other law firms, as well as directly from clients and their corporate counsel. We appreciate the confidence that they all place in us, and our goal always is to ensure that in serving our clients we continue to earn that level of confidence.
