John D. McCarthy
John D. McCarthy is a partner with Schenck, Price, Smith & King, LLP and a member of the firm’s Litigation Department. His practice includes employment and labor litigation, criminal law, commercial litigation, insurance defense and coverage, education matters and personal injury. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. McCarthy joined Schenck, Price, Smith & King, LLP in 2001. Prior to joining the firm, he was an associate in the Newark office of an international law firm from 1999 through 2001. Mr. McCarthy was as an Assistant Prosecutor with the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office from 1995 through 1999. He served a judicial clerkship with the Honorable James T. O’Halloran of the Superior Court of New Jersey during the 1994-1995 court term.
Mr. McCarthy was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Hudson County Bar Association from 1999 through 2002. He was President of the Young Lawyer’s Division of the Hudson County Bar Association in 1998. Currently, he is a member of the Morris County and New Jersey State Bar Associations.
Mr. McCarthy was an Intelligence Specialist with the United States Naval Reserve from 1996 through 2002. He graduated from the Morris County Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Morris program in 2006. He is a member of the Borough of Mendham Board of Adjustment.
Mr. McCarthy graduated cum laude from Providence College in 1990. He received his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1994.
