Peter A. Marra

Peter A. Marra is a partner with Schenck, Price, Smith & King, LLP and practices primarily in the Litigation Department. He is a civil trial attorney who specializes in resolving legal problems for individuals and businesses. He handles complex matters including medical malpractice, fraud, healthcare litigation, products liability, insurance coverage, construction defect, RICO, professional malpractice claims, labor and employment and estate and fiduciary litigation. In addition to being a successful trial attorney, Mr. Marra also handles appellate matters and acts as a private and court appointed mediator.

Mr. Marra is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York and is a member of the New Jersey and the Hunterdon Bar Associations. A member of the Health Care Practice Group, Health and Hospital Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association American and American Health Lawyers Association, Mr. Marra has extensive experience representing hospitals, healthcare entities, physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals in a variety of matters. As a member of the Fiduciary Litigation Group, he represents individuals in estate and fiduciary litigation including will contests, guardianships, Medicaid and Medicare litigation and related matters. He has given seminars and lectures on various legal topics and authored articles for legal publications. Mr. Marra has also served on the firm’s Management Committee.

Mr. Marra is Council President for the Township of Clinton and is a member of Clinton Township’s Highlands, Open Space and Council on Affordable Housing Committees. He has served as liaison to the Clinton Township School Board, Sewer Authority and Recreation Committee. A past president and member of the North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District Board of Education, Mr. Marra also served as Chairperson for the Business and Finance, Personnel, Negotiations, Community Relations and Policy committees. Mr. Marra served as Trustee for the Clinton Township Foundation for Educational Services. He has also served on the Board of Directors, as well as a volunteer, for Camp Fatima of New Jersey, New Jersey’s only all-volunteer camp for physically and mentally handicapped children.

After completing his undergraduate studies at Seton Hall University, Mr. Marra graduated magna cum laude in 1997 from the Seton Hall University School of Law. After law school, he completed a judicial clerkship for the Honorable James J. Petrella, Presiding Judge for the Appellate Division. He also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Maryanne Trump Barry, United States District Judge for the District of New Jersey. Mr. Marra also served as an assistant to State Senator Robert J. Martin. Prior to admission to becoming an attorney, Mr. Marra managed a restaurant and worked as a financial reviewer for Prudential Insurance Company of America. He was also the Director of the Youth Ministry program at St. Rose of Lima Church.

Mr. Marra was recognized in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 by New Jersey Monthly magazine as one of New Jersey’s “Rising Star, Super Lawyers”.
