Eric A. Inglis
Eric A. Inglis is a partner with Schenck, Price, Smith & King, LLP. As a member of the firm’s Litigation Department and C Commercial Litigation Practice Group, Mr. Inglis provides service to a wide variety of clients, including large, publicly traded corporations and smaller, closely held businesses. His practice includes business and commercial real estate litigation matters, partnership disputes, oppressed minority shareholder suits, commercial fraud claims, collection matters, tax appeals, and insurance and medical malpractice defense work.
Mr. Inglis has been certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney, a distinction held by only a small percentage of attorneys and one that is awarded after a demonstration of technical competence and passage of a written examination.
Mr. Inglis was first employed by the firm as a law clerk in 1993 and became a Partner in 2002. Mr. Inglis is the author of several articles in the field of real estate litigation, including "Safeguarding Municipal Sewer Reservations," which appeared in the May 2006 issue of Real Estate New Jersey, “Size Matters: Measuring the Square Footage of Commercial Space in New Jersey,” which appeared in the October 2007 issue of Real Estate New Jersey, and "Brokers Beware: Caveat Emptor Comes Crashing Down," which appeared in the Tri-State Real Estate Journal. Mr. Inglis is an active member of the New Jersey chapter of the real estate trade organization NAIOP, and he is a member of that organization’s Education Committee.
New Jersey Monthly magazine recognized Mr. Inglis in 2010 as one of New Jersey’s “Super Lawyers.” Real Estate New Jersey magazine in 2008 named Mr. Inglis one of its “40 under 40” in the New Jersey real estate market. Real Estate New Jersey also featured Mr. Inglis in its 2007 “Meet the Lawyers” edition. Mr. Inglis is conversant in both Spanish and Polish.
Mr. Inglis is very active in his community. He is the President of the Morristown and Morris Township Library Foundation, where he assisted in the construction of and oversaw fundraising for a large expansion of that library. He is also a member of the Board of the non-profit Evergreen Cemetery Association. He has also been a member of the Sustainability Committee of the non-profit Morristown Partnership. In 2001, Mr. Inglis graduated from the Morris County Chamber of Commerce’s “Leadership Morris” program, which provides a forum for county leaders to interact with each other. Mr. Inglis has also coached soccer, baseball, and lacrosse.
Mr. Inglis received his undergraduate degree in international affairs from George Washington University in 1990. During college Mr. Inglis studied at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, where he authored a study on student political activism. After college and after working as a high school teacher in Lublin, Poland, he returned to George Washington University and received his J.D. in 1994. While in law school Mr. Inglis worked at the Pentagon for the Army Judge Advocate General’s (“JAG”) Corps.
