Susan J. Flynn-Hollander is a partner with Schenck, Price, Smith & King’s Business and Real Estate Department and Health Care Law Practice Group, focusing on healthcare matters. She has more than twenty (20) years experience as corporate legal counsel and in Executive Management and private practice. Ms. Flynn-Hollander has a diverse business, insurance and consulting background, and has held positions in Executive Management for a number of health care entities and insurance organizations. Ms. Flynn-Hollander is certified by the American Health Lawyers Association in Arbitration and Advanced Mediation.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Flynn-Hollander served as Associate General Counsel and Vice-President for Professional Risk at William H. Connolly & Co. ( a subsidiary of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.) and before that as Vice President of Administration and General Counsel of Bayonne Medical Center where she coordinated management, health care, human resources, risk management, and legal services. Her background includes expertise in hospital operations, fraud and abuse, regulatory issues, insurance matters, physician recruitment and employment, risk management, credentialing, peer review, privileges, medical staff issues, HIPAA roll-outs, and corporate and vendor contracting. Ms. Flynn-Hollander has developed and implemented compliance programs; negotiated settlement agreements with the Federal Government; and developed New Business initiatives including hospital-physician joint ventures for a regional health system. She has also been counsel for Management during collective bargaining negotiations and responsible for Human Resource functions and Employment issues, often during troubled financial times for the institution.

Ms. Flynn-Hollander is a graduate of Douglass College and New York Law School where she was Book Editor for the Journal of International and Comparative Law, is admitted to practice (1985) in New Jersey and was recently sworn in to the U.S. Supreme Court. She serves as a Trustee for both the Foundation of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey (Treasurer, Executive Committees, Finance Committees), Venture Capital Group LLC (a new entity providing angel funding to start-up healthcare and biotech researchers at UMDNJ and throughout New Jersey), the Women’s Health Institute of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, and is co-chair of the ADR Committee for the New Jersey Defense Association.
