Thomas L Hofstetter
Thomas L Hofstetter is a partner with Schenck, Price Smith & King’s Business Law Department. Mr. Hofstetter is also the chairperson of the firm’s Banking Practice Group and a member of the Commercial Restructuring and Workouts Practice Group. Mr. Hofstetter practices primarily as a transactional corporate attorney representing institutional lenders, entities and individuals in commercial and loan transactions, as well as loan restructures and workouts. He has substantial experience in counseling financial institutions and borrowers in all aspects of government guaranteed loans with emphasis on U.S. Small Business Administration finance transactions including the structuring of institutional loans, compliance with SBA regulations and conducting loan closings. Mr. Hofstetter also has experience in land use and leasing matters.
Mr. Hofstetter has counseled and lectured on numerous topics of interest to lenders and business establishments. He is active in the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL) where he serves on the Technical Issues Committee and is the Chair of the Region II Regional Liaison Committee. He is also a member of the New Jersey State Bar and the American Bar Associations. Mr. Hofstetter is the President of the Normandy Beach Improvement Association. Mr. Hofstetter also serves as Chairman for the Georgetown University Alumni Admissions Program for Central New Jersey.
Mr. Hofstetter has a varied legal career commencing as a staff attorney for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, served as an associate at a major New Jersey law firm, served as Section Chief for the Federal Deposit Insurance Company and served as general counsel to a community bank. Prior to joining Schenck, Price, Smith & King, LLP in 2002, Mr. Hofstetter was a partner with a well known New Jersey law firm concentrating his practice in the areas of corporate transactions and lending.
