Roy J. Evans is a partner with Schenck, Price, Smith & King’s Litigation Department . He is also a member of the Commercial Restructuring and Workouts Practice Group. He is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney and has been so certified since 1994. His litigation practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation.

Mr. Evans has substantial experience in litigation involving educational institutions, financial institutions, contested estate and trust matters, land use and construction law. Admitted to practice in the State and Federal Courts of New Jersey since 1975, his professional activities presently include his service as 2009 President of the Morris County Bar Association. He has previously served as President of the Passaic County Bar Association (1995-1996) and served a four year term on the District XI Ethics Committee of the New Jersey Supreme Court (1986-1990).

Active in a variety of public service and community activities, Mr. Evans served as the Morris County Bar Foundation President in 2007. He served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the County College of Morris for twelve years (1996–2008) and served as Board Chairman from 11/2002 through 11/2004. He previously served on the Denville Township Council (President 1991 and 1992), Planning Board, and Board of Adjustment, and was a trustee of Wayne General Hospital Foundation and North Jersey Meditech, the parent corporation of Wayne General Hospital.

After receiving an undergraduate degree from Alfred University in 1970 and serving in the U.S. Army (Military Police), Mr. Evans earned his law degree from Syracuse University in 1975.

Mr. Evans was recognized in 2008 and 2009 by New Jersey Monthly magazine as one of New Jersey’s “Super Lawyers” ^* in Business Litigation.
