Douglas R. Eisenberg
Douglas R. Eisenberg is a partner with Schenck, Price, Smith & King, LLP and a member of the firm’s Tax, Trust and Estate Department. Mr. Eisenberg’s expertise includes federal and state income tax issues for different entities, such as subchapter C and S corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, estates and trusts, as well as individual income tax planning. Mr. Eisenberg is also experienced in structuring sales of closely-held businesses, like-kind exchanges of real estate and income tax and probate litigation. He also devotes a substantial portion of his practice to estate planning and administration and forming exempt organizations and foundations. Additionally, Mr. Eisenberg handles federal and state tax audits as well as dealing with tax collection issues.
Mr. Eisenberg shares his knowledge with accounting firms, commerce associations and other groups through lectures on estate planning and other tax issues. He is the author of two publications in the New Jersey Law Journal, “An Offer in Compromise Might Reduce Liability” (1994), and “Asset Protection or Estate Planning Clients Must Do Both Simultaneously” (1996). Mr. Eisenberg passed the Certified Public Accountant exam in 1982 and is the President of Temple Beth Israel in West Orange, New Jersey.
A cum laude graduate of the University of Hartford, Mr. Eisenberg earned his law degree from Seton Hall University Law School and his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law.
