John M. DeMarco is a partner with Schenck, Price, Smith & King’s Business and Real Estate Department. His main areas of practice are commercial real estate, commercial leasing, land use and environmental regulation. Mr. DeMarco also is a member of the firm’s Recruiting Committee.

Mr. DeMarco has been very active in representing major corporations in various real estate matters, leasing and land use, including the development of a 310 acre corporate office park in northern New Jersey as well as the development and sale of surrounding residential properties. He has also been involved in the representation of several major residential developers in connection with the development of large residential subdivisions. His experience includes expertise in various areas of environmental regulation affecting real estate, including wetlands regulation, underground storage tank law, storm water management regulations, the Industrial Site Recovery Act, and the Highlands Water Protection and Planning Act.

Actively engaged in all aspects of commercial real estate, Mr. DeMarco has substantial experience in commercial leasing, telecommunications leasing, land use and other real estate matters for many clients including Cablevision, Lexent, and Atlantic Health System.

After graduating from St. John's University in 1977, Mr. DeMarco attended Brooklyn Law School where he received his law degree in 1981. He is admitted to both the New York and New Jersey bars and is admitted to practice before the New Jersey District Court. He is a former Secretary of the District X Fee Arbitration Committee and served as a member of the District X Ethics Committee.

Mr. DeMarco was recognized in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 by New Jersey Monthly magazine as on of New Jersey’s “Super Lawyers”.
