SCHENCK, PRICE, SMITH & KING ANNOUNCES THE EXPANSION OF ITS HEALTH CARE PRACTICE GROUP

Schenck, Price, Smith & King is pleased to welcome Brian M. Foley as a Partner and Simone E. Handler-Hutchinson and Rachel Alexander-Williams as Associates in the firm’s Health Care Law Practice Group and Business Organizations Department.

Mr. Foley joins the firm after serving as Vice President and General Counsel of Cathedral Healthcare System, a multi-hospital system located in Newark, New Jersey. Mr. Foley was formerly a Partner in the law firm of Kalison, McBride, Jackson & Murphy, where he practiced health care law. He will continue to concentrate his practice in the area of health care law, representing health systems, hospitals, medical staffs, physicians and other professional providers. Mr. Foley has extensive experience in all aspects of health care law including fraud and abuse counseling, reimbursement, managed care, compliance, contracts and licensing matters. Mr. Foley received his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1986, and his B.A. in Economics from Villanova University in 1983.

Ms. Handler-Hutchinson comes to the Health Care Law Practice Group from Brownstone Publishers where she served as the Editor of Health Information Compliance Insider and the executive editor of the HIPAA Security & Privacy Staff Trainer, HIPAA Security Compliance Insider, and the Managed Care Contracting & Reimbursement Advisor. Before joining Brownstone Publishers, she practiced law in the in the health care department of Brach, Eichler, Rosenberg, Silver, Bernstein, Hammer & Gladstone, PC. She has also been an adjunct professor of law at Seton Hall University School of Law since 1999, teaching health law courses as part of the Health Law and Policy Program. She will continue to devote her practice to representing health care providers. Ms. Handler-Hutchinson received her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1993, and her B.A. in Economics from Emory University in 1987.

Ms. Williams also has experience in health care law having worked previously in the Office of the General Counsel of WebMD Corporation in Nashville, Tennessee, and Pfizer, Inc. in New York. Ms. Williams received her J.D. from Cardozo School of Law in New York in 2002, and her B.A. from Barnard College in 1994.
