On January 16, Farah N. Ansari, Partner and Co-Chair of the Non-Profit Organizations Practice Group, spoke at the New York City Bar Association’s Non-Profit Organizations Committee Meeting on the topic of “Friends of” Organizations.

Alongside her colleagues Laura Angel-Lalanne, Maura Whelan, and Justin Zaremby, Farah discussed the importance of the structure, allowing for a potential charitable income tax deduction by individual donors, the need for “discretion and control” by the “Friends of” Organization, operational concerns, and OFAC compliance requirements.
